Danube – Day 3: Novi Sad

Some images taken on a recent holiday trip down the Danube from Budapest to the Iron Gates Gorge (Serbia) and back.

Day 3 – A full day to explore the Serbian city of Novi Sad, starting with an excusion to a monastery in the hills before being back onboard for an evening cruise to our next destination.

Welcome to Novi Sad

The coarch trip to Krušedol Monastery takes about 25 mins through the city and coutryside around Novi Sad. On arrival there is a 5 min walk to the main buildings and the church. The inside artwork is very impressive and well worth the trip and the exterior and grounds are also very pretty. On the walk back to the coach you could hear a low drone of the all the bees in the trees along the pathway.

After the excusion we had the rest of the day to expore the city, from the modern areas to the more traditional buildings. There are a number of churches, cathederals and other religious buildings around which are well worth visiting.

A room with a view – whenever I go away for work or short breaks I alway seem to get the room overlooking the bins, today I had a different view, a nice porta-loo, I’m not sure if thats better or not.

The photo’s give me a good appraisal of the area and things/places you visited. The church interiors are great quality. I would imagine the light in there might not have been as good as it appears.
